About Us

James P Richardson CPA Inc. is the successor entiy of Clarence White, CPA which operated 38 years in the City of Richmond,CA. JPRCPA, Inc. moved the, January 16, 2017 practice to a home office in Oakley and a satellite office in San Francisco. I was licensed in 1987 and have run my own practice for the past 30 years, initially in Cleveland, OH and now in Oakley, CA. The practice is community based and serves small businesses and individuals through accounting, management and tax reporting services. Small business owners are adept in the fields where they operate and seldom have or make time to prepare financial reports. So our firm functions typically as the accounting department for small business entities.

The firm specialty is nonprofit organizations from inception to dissolution. We provide financial reporting services including auditing, review and compilation of financial statements; payroll services and tax reporting requirements. We provide managerial services for nonprofit and for-profit entities

Best practices are that we show consideration of others during interaction. All meetings require that we are fully invested in the moment. To be distracted by cell phone use conveys you are not fully invested in the moment and could also send the message that my business is more important than what we are engaged in. I would silence my phone and return calls following the meeting. If it is an urgent call you are expecting, then excuse yourself from the meeting to answer a call.

Nothing beats word of mouth because, for a potential customer, they are getting a referral from someone they probably trust which means you don't have to sell yourself but you do have to perform.
