I don’t worry about things like this. It’s similar to common flu. Always a different variant there too. if you stay healthy and stop listening to the news all day. You will be fine. Sometimes I give gift cards or potted plants if they are an avid gardener, or gift certificates for a massage or a favorite book of their author, movie tickets, coffee cards, handcrafted gifts are nice too. I think it should depend on when both parties are available to meet. Myself, I like early afternoon when my work is done and I have plenty of time to meet for coffee. Mornings work too.
