We use QBO exclusively. The flexibility with regard to the variety of clients we have and the 3rd party app support are excellent. 99% of our clients that use/try QBO convert from QB Desktop or whichever program they are using.

Depending on the scale/severity of the bad news, its either in person, via the phone or email. Also, leveraging the messaging system in QBO has proven quite effective! If its time sensitive, we reach out via text with a call to action.
We do our best to ensure our clients success with proactive communication across a plethora of platforms. That said, sometimes issues come up that we couldn't foresee, or worse, did not plan well enough for. If it happens, we own it and fix it. If its on the client's end, we tell them that and offer solutions. Totally depends.
Id buy her a new gym outfit and put OUR new fitness sessions in a shared calendar! If I am stepping it up, so is she. We are big on being fair to one another and sharing such things!

We have fully integrated QBO over the past year and it has transformed both our firm and our clients. Real time information vs waiting. Full device usage so the information is available at the press of a button. TONS of 3rd party support for anyones industry. Cant say enough good things about it....

Full device usage so the information is available at the press of a button. TONS of 3rd party support for anyones industry. Cant say enough good things about it. QB Desktop is a different matter, IMHO, as it is more prone to user error and is less useful when it comes to collaboration with our clients.
