About Us

Sugartown Communications is a team of experienced brand builders, media buyers, copywriters, graphic designers, web developers and SEO specialists. We are results driven creative thinkers and technical tinkers who are inspired to work at an An Agency that is big enough to be full service but small enough to get up close and personal.

How We Got Started

I initially began as a journalist, which transitioned into a 23 year career as a media sales account executive in the Philadelphia suburbs. During my time in media sales I worked with many business owners who struggled with how, when and where to promote their business. They needed an organized action plan. I felt with the proper team of digital and creative professionals I could help. My vision has remained the same since day one: work closely with each client, be available, and combine strategic planning with innovative and integrated advertising tactics to help brands grow.

It really depends on your business category as to what best practice may be. You will certainly need a solid game plan and thoughtful strategy to get you launched. There are so many options it can be daunting. In my own experience, prior to starting an ad agency, I had been a Media Sales Account Executive for 23 years in the same market, so I was fortunate enough to have an entire rolodex of clients I had worked that I had a relationship with. Initially I contacted past clients and as we began to add more services to the agency I have broadened my scope through the use of great SEO, AdWords Campaigns, community service, referrals and constant networking. In my industry a face to face conversation is the best way to initiate a good conversation about what we do and how we might help a business grow. Whatever you do, be prepared to live with no sleep for the first three years!

Before meeting any new prospective client I always try to learn as much as I possibly can about their business, about the person I am meeting with and the people who make up their organization. Typically I discern their needs on the phone before we meet and walk into the meeting extremely prepared, sometimes even with sample proposals based on what we discussed on the phone. When we meet it is important to listen to their concerns and find out what problem they need solved. During our meeting we talk about the services we provide and how we work and try to see if we are a good fit. Sometimes it is clear we may not be a good fit. In that case it is best to refer them to someone who we feel may be what they are looking for. Sincerity and no ego are the way to go. If they do not like you or trust you, anything else you say after that will just be white noise.

(more) HI again Anthony, I responded to your question earlier today, but wanted to add one more thing. I am new to Alignable and just learning the interface, so I did not see the name of your business posted with your question. However, I see you now and I see that you do have a website and it is optimized for mobile devices. So the next step would be to work on the PLAN I mention below. Enjoy your weekend. Best, Joan
