How We Got Started

Founded three companies that happened to become loved, multi-million dollar success stories. One in high-end consulting / retained executive search. It was purchased by one of the venture capital companies I was serving.

One of the businesses was one of the first digital media marketing companies in the country, purchased by the largest promotions company in the country, and the other was an ecommerce business in the medical industry that generated over 94 million dollars before it was sold to a private equity fund.

Then, I became Entrepreneur In Residence for ASU, and this ignited my passion for mentoring entrepreneurs. My student teams won millions in funding and several are still running successful (life changing) ventures in real life!

This also led to my counseling suicidal and troubled young adults.

I now help thousands of funded founders best-define and start their ventures, and offer ongoing guidance that makes all the difference in the world.

So sad but necessary!  They're doing amazingly well because they are keeping themselves very accessible telephonically. Our clients in our industry (Seniors living at home or in luxury living communities or children living at home with very busy working parents) have been forced into ultra-isolation and are suffering alone too. I see the clinicians at my company have been allowed into facilities and homes because of the personalized strict protocol they abide by, AND because they truly are essential to bridging the gap between the loved ones...and able to actively attend to the client's essential physical and psycho-social needs.  www.PeekForward.com  Ask@PeekForward.com

It'll be a tough road, but you're wise to do a bit of a mental re-start by asking how you can truly differentiate. Define your "moat"...what makes you especially unique/valuable...irreplaceable...something no one can compete with. Could be a unique cultural approach, unique psycho-social therapeutic skills, unique service terms/offerings...then stick to your lane and be that homecare business vs. chasing ALL the clients out there. Once you have that clearly defined, make sure your branding reflects it...like what I just did for www.AZPerfectCompanion.com in Phoenix, AZ.  THEN, create some sort of strategic value for your referral sources and target and build those relationships. You only need 2-3 solid (mutually beneficial) referral sources to get your biz cash flowing and growing healthily. This approach helps you attract just the right, differentiated caregivers too!  Define your superhero powers Make sure your messaging communicates it well Create unique approaches and offerings Target out-of-the-box referral sources and bring them value too (Then, pay attention to what pains you most and innovate solutions for those pieces...you're in the heart of Silicon Valley, land of innovations! Build a relevant advisory board you can brainstorm with and create unique win-win programs quarterly )   Stay safe! Warmest, Erika

(more) I'm lucky enough to have a client who is in the clinical homecare services business and are highly trained 1st responders, and are specialists in senior services, psycho-social and family crisis counseling in the greater Phoenix, AZ area.  Things I've learned: Stay social, but through video chats with friends, family and business meetings. Keep communications and productivity flowing. Get up and stretch, get fresh air, lift your arms and eyes into the air and breathe...take a walk, hike a mountain during breaks. Stay away from the kitchen, stay productive and physically active so employers will feel more at ease allowing virtual workforces mixed in with at-office coom by ya days.  This pandemic will definitely change things and if everyone stays calm, productive and healthy, this gives business owners and community organizers a fighting chance to recover stronger than ever. It's up to each one of us. We're not a victim of circumstance...we are the creators of it. Stop buying so much toilet paper and vital supplies that are causing shortages for others. Let's (instead) exercise a culturally collective mindset, and have faith you can survive on what you got and don't realize you have had tucked away in your pantry, closets and drawers for so many years.  Tap into the amazing people at www.AZPerfectCompanion.com if you are a senior or have loved ones who need physical and psycho-social support with their daily living needs every day. They really do rock and they really do care. They've brought tears to my eyes how much they care and it's become increasingly evident in these past couple weeks!

Rather than making a video talking about yourself and selling yourself...Create authentic videos using your phone; idea...your walking through a new listing talking about how excited you are...where it is, stand-out details...then video updates...like interview a family who just toured the home and get their feedback...THEN, authentic video of pending deals...then authentic video of close; salient details about the close that indirectly markets your effectiveness. BTW, the videos should be swift...you only have 2 seconds to compel someone to keep watching. When you save the video file to Vimeo or Youtube (on your channel), name the video clearly including the house address, your phone and email address. Be sure to pin the location of your properties so you start to naturally rank for the region. BTW, you may want to ask your open house visitors to rate your open house on Google...YOUR GOOGLE PAGE...if you see they're excited about the home.  "Would you rate this home 5 Stars?" if they say yes, ask politely and bring them directly to  your Google Find my Biz Page. (They're more likely to leave the review if you bring them to your page on their phone and even press the 5stars, and teach them how to use their microphone voice to text. You can only pull this off if  you're exceptional at building rapport! Otherwise, forget this part...or just text them a link that brings them DIRECTLY to the rating pop up on your google find my biz page. "Can I text you the link that let's you just click the stars to rate this open house?" if they say yes...you also now have their cell phone number if you ever need it:) Just ideas...

(more) This is a long answer, but here's the gist in hopes it lights a bulb in your marketing.  1. It's often easier to start small and grow, then just start big/wide and hope for every customer. You might be wise to focus in on the CBD lines that have the highest potential, and intensely focus in on the customer type and maladies this particular product line can solve. Your products are actually solutions.  2. Your focus might also involve the question of which of your manufacturers have marketing devel funds (MDF) and the most loyalty to you. With that said, you can partner with your manufacturers and put education programs together that bring targeted people in your door for an exciting purpose/experience...solve and delight with substance. 3. With that said, if you clearly know who your ideal customers are, look at what other providers in your area are catering to your exact population of customers. Either coordinate the educational event with that particular strategic partner, or model your education event to attract that type of strategic partner who can send you a lot of customers every month. Or, design your education event to attract a quantity of strategic partners who can send you customers. If you craft this right, you should bring them value as well so they don't take any of your revenues and you don't take any of theirs. So so, once you decide which product line you're going to start with, figure out where you can best target that population of consumers with that physical issue, and coordinate your marketing and your invitations through those strategic channels. For instance, nice senior living communities are always looking for activities to bus the residence to. If the activityies director gets the feeling that you're high quality, and this will be educational and enriching for the residents, they'll fill the bus and come to your event. they're even more likely to come to your event if there's a medical professional presenting. There's there's so much more you can do to dominate over the smaller providers! I got to go 😘 p.s. creating a hybrid educational magazine and print catalog that's just a few pages can drive quite a lot of traffic in the door if you focus in on one vertical/one customer type at a time, and get smart with your distribution outlets/strategic partners! Print print is not dead, and it actually can attract the best possible customer, & More loyalty. Online shoppers are not loyal to the biggest provider... They're normally loyal to the best price.

There are many micro-decisions in influencer marketing that can cause massive breakthroughs and others that break it.  Someone else mentioned leveraging your own customers as your influencers. I am a HUGE advocate of that model!!!  Crunch the numbers, know your cost of customer acquisition and the LTV (lifetime value) of your customers to know what you're willing to invest and invest in your own inner circle.  This makes you have to rock at what you offer BTW:) You can get really creative and cause win-win-wins for all.  ALSO, there's software systems that are SUPER simple to integrate with your CRM and your website like www.Synup.com  But remember, it's one thing to attain positive online reviews, it's another to know how to craft programs that monetize it!
