Being a Home Based Travel Entrepreneur, and having organized and managed group tours to both the UK and Ireland, my passion fuels my work. It's always been a dream to show you the world through the eyes of the locals. Having both Celtic and Viking blood, I've also begun my research into Scandinavia.. Specializing in custom individual and group tours. With visits to 42 of the 50 states, Canada, Iceland, Ireland, The Netherlands, Scotland and England, my education keeps expanding.

How We Got Started
After 2 years of home study courses in Master Travel. My Travel business adventure began. I continue my education all the time, learning more about the destinations I serve as well as learning about new places to visit. I am now officially a Certified Travel Assistant earning my CTA through The Travel Institute. Specializing in travel to the UK & Ireland, I focus on groups of all sizes.

Although an expert in travel to Europe - mainly the UK Ireland Scandinavia and now SouthWest Germany, I've had to put that all off until next year. I myself am planning on taking a few road trips in the PNW into Montana this summer. This will give me a great idea of how things are improving in my area and give me the opportunity to better offer ideas and help with travel needs throughout the region. I'm also a specialist in River Cruising which are available on many of the rivers throughout America. I truly believe this year will be the best for domestic travel as states begin to re-open and allow people to venture out once again.

Each of my group tours are customizable to the individual group. I also sometimes will put an itinerary together and put it out to the general traveling public. Right now I have group tours to Scotland for 2021 and working on one for Ireland for 2022 which will include the Masters Highland Championship Games in Killarney. My group sizes run anywhere from 10-36, usually consisting of 18-22 people.

I work in the Travel Industry. As we all know, it has come to a complete halt. I am fortunate to be in some amazing forums through social media where we are all offering advice and help to those in dire need. We have come together as an industry to brighten each others lives as well as our past, current and future clients. We are all sitting in the same murky waters. I've been blessed to be able to continue my education through various webinars and very generous school programs that are offering FREE classes and certificates, not only in travel related programs, but also Hospitality Management! I know we will come through this soon and I for one and looking for my industry to thrive once again. We small business owners & those working for one are super-stars and we will get through this together!
I work from home, so paying my monthly personal rent also covers my business. I have an amazing landlord, who actually refunded almost 1/2 of my rent back to me to help during this time. So blessed to live where I do!

As others have stated, the Travel Industry has taken a huge hit. I'm home based and a very small company, most of my business has been centered around the UK & Ireland but I've begun branching out into other parts of Europe. So far I have not lost business, but I'm not gaining new either. That said, I started my business in 2002, not quite a year out from 9/11 which was a bit hard to get started at that point. Everyone rebounded and got through that and the world thrived. This is just another bump in the road (I'm not lessening the horrible situation people have found themselves in, so please no negative feedback! I'm praying for Italy and everyone else who has been hit hard by this horrible virus). After listening to the President's speech today, I'm certain they are doing all they can to help to control this situation and hopefully get us all back on our feet again. It's times like these that the real spirit of people shine through. I'm hopeful for the future of travel and will work other jobs if needed to get me through until this situation gets put under control. Let's get through this together and watch this beautiful world of ours rise again!

What I do is specifically based on the clients needs. I customize each and every tour and individuals travels. I'm extremely flexible and am focused on destinations that I know and love. I travel with each tour to make sure all the clients needs are met personally. If traveling on their own, I am available 24/7 and have colleagues that are local to where they are traveling to help if needed.

Everything I do in my business is customized to my customer. Listening is a HUGE must, hearing what the customer is saying (even reading between the lines at times). There are times when I just cannot offer the services they are looking for, so I find someone who can. Going the extra mile for them, it's a lot of common sense and for hopefully most of us, it's a natural response. Being honest about what I can and cannot or will not do for them is important. If you truly care it shows and your customers will come back again and again.
How to let people know that it's more than just a "hobby". It's actually a job and a serious business. Understanding the ins and outs of actually running a business. It's been a learning experience for sure! 17 years later, I'm still learning.
