One of the funniest stories I experienced myself was when I went to take pictures of the stages of construction on one of our purchaser's homes, that was being built along the Jackson Creek Meadows conservation area. I arrived early one evening after we had experienced a lot of constant rainfall so the area around this purchasers house was very muddy but I had no idea how serious the mud situation was until after I had already taken a few pictures and moved closer to get some new angles. I was wearing a pair of my favorite sandals that I had picked up on my honeymoon in Aruba, and as I stepped forward, I suddenly sunk past knee deep into the mud. I could not extract my foot and leg and was holding my phone/camera in one hand, trying not to drop it. When I tried pulling my leg out of the mud and attempting to rescue the sandal from Aruba and as I tried to extricate my arm, I lost my balance and the other foot and leg lodged deeply into the mud as well so now I was really stuck. The sun had begun to set and I was basically hidden from street view as my pickup truck was blocking what little sight there was of me, now almost thigh deep in mud. I was feeling a bit panicky and no longer cared about rescuing the sandals, but just getting free....I was able to get the one arm and hand free and with a LOT of effort finally got one leg and foot out ( minus a sandal of course ha ha ) and then by laying practically backwards on the ground got the other leg and foot out...also minus a sandal...and then kind of rolled back over to the less muddy area. Back up at the truck, muddy and barefooted, I glanced across the road at a man watering his flowers, who recognized me and brought the hose over to help get me clean and then brought towels out to me. Humiliated but grateful, I took the dirty towels home and washed them, then brought them back with a gift card for a dinner out for my rescuers. At least the pictures turned out well and the purchasers were very grateful for my efforts...all in the line of duty :0)
Word of mouth is one of the best ways in the beginning ( who have others found to be reliable and consistent as well as excellent at what they do). Sometimes it is just a matter of trial and error but we like keeping the ones that are outstanding as much as is possible as they create fewer issues...
