I have tremendous respect and empathy for her. She has aged out, that's a fact. Giving her platitudes and rah-rah statements really don't help. On the other hand, yes, going to local businesses is a great idea. What she could do is market herself..use social media ie Facebook to post her skills and ask for openings and/or referrals. Go to Meetups..check job boards..network with SCORE..try to read about our current culture stay current...and relevant..BUT 74 is 74. It isn't easy to be job hunting at any age, but at 74 it's tough. Wishing all of you an easy journey....
