I think person to person contact is the best way to secure more clients. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself, and start a conversation. Here are some of the ways I have gotten my clients: Bingo, Pool where I swim, thrift store, animal shelter, places I volunteer, and my local church. I do have an advantage working in a store front, but most of my clients are individuals I have become acquainted with outside the office. Becoming involved in various groups gets you out there. For example, I take pictures of dogs and cats being admitted to the Animal Shelter each week. I also make myself available to work at community events. Try this sometime. you might be surprised.

First of all, I give them a handshake and warm welcome. Being a store from Agency, you often know little or nothing about the person. I ask him to sit down introduce myself and ask his name and were he is from to start the conversation. Then I ask how I might help him. The Key is to Listen...

First of all, I give them a handshake and warm welcome. Being a store from Agency, you often know little or nothing about the person. I ask him to sit down introduce myself and ask his name and were he is from to start the conversation. Then I ask how I might help him. The Key is to Listen carefully and keep the eye contact to show your interest. I try to get the Who, What, Where, When, and Why from him to understand his needs and desires. I then reconfirm his conversation to make sure I understand him correctly. I then give him information and answer any questions he asks. If he needs time to look over Brochures at home I give him my card and ask for a future appointment. I often ask a few questions about himself, but try not to keep the visit too long.
