If whatever you are offering is more sophisticated, I would think you would want to drive semi-qualified traffic to you with the rest of the process conducted inter-personally, if not face-to-face, then by telephone or Skype. Nothing take the pace of the human connection if you are looking to develop business relationships leading to additional sales and business referrals.

Reputation Management is a career field in itself. Companies pay thousands of dollars to protect and even "clean up" bad online items such as comments, reviews and even news stories. Too many products and companies have failed because only their owners and developers thought their customers really needed or wanted them. There is no substitute for good market research, focus groups and checking your own ego at the door. Stephen King, once wrote, "kill your darlings, kill your darlings, even when it breaks your egocentric little scribbler's heart, kill your darlings." Apply that advice to anything you wish to offer to the public. You love of whatever it may be may not be shared by consumers...or be a compelling enough reason for people to own it.

At the heart of it all, ALWAYS be sure you have a strong value proposition for potential customers (aka: website traffic). All the calls to action in the world will never take the place of offering something so compelling that people stopping by really believe they need it, want it and can afford to have it. Hopefully, they can't easily find it better or cheaper elsewhere and that is where your market research and persuasive copy-writing skills come in. Sometimes, you also need to have a "kicker," a web special, so to speak to sweeten your offer. That helps out your calls to action a great deal.

(more) Constant Contact is a wonderful, easy-to-use, professional looking and very affordable e-mail marketing tool for small and medium size businesses; reaching out to their target audiences for a variety of reasons with and without specific calls to action. For some it is an add; for others an announcement; still others use it as a newsletter. You are charged, monthly, for the service based on the number of contacts added to their data-base in reasonable increments. You can create as many e-mail campaigns as you like each month for no extra charge. Of course, the best thing about Constant Contact is that your own e-mail server is protected from challenges of SPAM; though you DO take a pledge with Constant Contact to only e-mail people/businesses that are aware of who you are. They also offer the required "opt-out" feature to everyone receiving your emails. Be aware that if Constant Contact receives too many SPAM complaints about your account, they will indeed shut you down. Better that they do, rather than your own e-mail domain host. Constant Contact has a large number of e-mail templates to choose from well designed to address almost every reason a business or group would want to create another touchpoint with their diverse audiences. There is even a free trial offered allowing anyone to get a real feel for what the service has to offer. While there are some additional services and add-on features Constant Contact charges for; most small businesses can get away with the basic plan; without handicapping themselves in any way. Basically, it all comes down to paying slightly more as your contact list grows without receiving any additional charges if you increase the number of e-mail campaigns you run. MailChimp is the main competitor of Constant Contact. It appeals to some because it is free or – at least - very inexpensive depending on what services of theirs you choose. It is also a bit more awkward and difficult to use when designing e-mail campaigns. It is not for people that are not somewhat tech saavy. But, some people like it just the same, because it integrates with WordPress quite nicely.
