I always walked away from fights, but my best friend in college convinced me to join the Golden Gloves, so I would reduce snarky comments. I won a few fights, and the next thing I knew, I was fighting the Mid-South Heavyweight Champ. They said his right was like a mule kick, and he came after me with a peek-a-boo style. Since I never boxed before, I watched his right shoulder, went for the block when it moved, and countered. I thought I was doing well until I landed on the mat. I lay on the mat, realizing he threw a left. As I lay there, I started working my way into a frenzy. That son of a gun had the nerve to knock ME down. I am going to get up and knock his but from one side of the ring to the other.

In life, I continually get knocked down; however, every time I get up and come back with a mission, knowing that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I did marketing for Ford, Sears, Burger King, and Anheuser-Busch distributorships. This allowed me to start a media-buying service that afforded me a grand lifestyle.
