Todd, I'd love for you to clarify about the second part of your statement. I agree with you that the actual March 2020 (and the proposed, voted upon, but still-unsigned December 2020) stimulus bills were mere/are bandaids. But could you clarify what you mean about the "majority" of our tax money going overseas? As you work in insurance, I'm sure you excel, at statistics and can explain. Do you mean American corporations sending jobs overseas and operating abroad in a way that the wealthy owners don't have to pay their fair of taxes? (Because that's a huge frustration, and I'm very inclined to agree with you!) But I don't want to presume to know what you meant. I'm very curious what you mean by the "majority" of our tax money, because I'm sure you know that only 1% of the US budget (that is, 1 cent for every dollar) goes to foreign aid, with 43% of that going to bilateral economic growth programs (meaning, they help us and not just the countries getting aid) and 35% of it for military and security assistance, such as counterterrorism and stabilization (which, if the military is to be believed, helps keep us safe, which is why the aid comes out of budgets of departments like Army, Navy, State and Defense). Only 18% of the 1% of our budget sent overseas, or ***0.0018*** of our budget goes to humanitarian aid, with 89.9% of that going to healthcare. (I'm quoting from the government's own statistics on the budget: https://crsreports.congress.gov/product/pdf/R/R...) Anyway, I'm sure you're familiar with the statistics showing how little of our budget (which comes from taxes and government borrowing) goes to foreign aid, but I didn't want to presume you meant (by "majority") that you meant cheating corporations not paying their fair share by keeping operations overseas, thus stealing much of what our tax base should be. But I'm eager to hear if I've missed your meaning, as I'm sure there's always more to learn from others' knowledge and experience with statistical analysis.
