A severe lack of qualified automotive technicians is problematic for all auto repair shops, including dealerships these days. Collin College has recognized this need and is building a brand new campus devoted to vocational training, but the results of that are still 4 - 5 years away. In the meantime it's up to current shop owners to hire good, young candidates and provide as much "on the job" training as possible.
