As healers following a more traditional path (veering away from the modern/allopathic path), how do we find clients and promote our modalities?

The thing that has worked best for me is to get specific about who (and what specific issues) my work helps. I offer Maya abdominal massage...have offered this for years. Last summer, I updated my website and created programs for people who are having challenges with menstrual cycles, digestive issues, and back problems. I created my programs with the intention that I would help my clients to alleviate their issues and I would also teach them how to care for themselves when they weren't in my office. (This is what separates me from other practitioners in my area who offer similar services.) I also included key words in my text so that my programs would pop up more easily in search engines. I am now booking out fully two weeks in advance. I'm also getting more of the type of clients I want to work on. I even get clients who may not fit into the parameters of my expressed focus but want to work with me anyway.

Be open to being specific about what you offer, who you serve, and how you differ from other practitioners who offer the same things you offer. Know who your target demographic is and cater to that demographic. Make sure your website is up to date and is working for you.

Good luck!
