Big T's Chop Shop
We are a prototype and "job shop" fabrication house that is capable of working in a variety of materials to help bring your product ideas to life. We also offer services to fabricate replacement parts, or to fix and upgrade mechanical or electronic devices that you may have in your home or shop.
Our services span the gamut from design work, to 3D printed prototypes, to nearly perfect finished products completed using short run manufacturing techniques. We also have a small paint booth, powder coating, and vinyl cutter for finishing products, creating labels and signs, and packaging.
We're comfortable working in wood, plastics, metals, and more, and are always interested in exploring new ideas and solving production problems. Our typical clients are entrepreneurs exploring new product ideas and folks looking to improve or repair machinery or tools that may have broken down for them.
Originally, we started as the hardware arm of Finger Food Studios, a mid-size local software company. Our mandate was to create devices for the "Internet of Things" movement which involved a lot of wireless communication such as Bluetooth, WiFi, and Cellular connected to sensors for monitoring the environment or mechanical devices.
In 2018, the IoT Design Shop spun out as an independent small business, and since then has been operating as "boutique" fabrication shop for a number of different clients from around the world. We have re-branded as of 2020 to "Big T's Chop Shop" to reflect our commitment to manufacturing, CNC machining, and local production.
We continue to expand our line-up of machines and processes, and are always looking for new problems to solve.
