About Us

just dance! magazine is published specifically to showcase and support talented young Canadian performing artists. Our mission is to foster a lifelong love of the arts while encouraging a balanced and healthy lifestyle. We seek to connect young dancers with businesses, supports, services, and opportunities, as well as cultivate creativity.

How We Got Started

When just dance! publisher Racquel Foran's youngest daughter got involved with dance, Racquel was overwhelmed by everything there was to learn and know. She felt like a performer with two left feet at most competitions and recitals; this is why she decided to launch just dance! With her fabulous team of people, Racquel strives to make just dance! magazine a must read and go-to resource for all young Canadian performing artist and their families. And she wants to remind everyone, just dance! is more than a magazine, it's an attitude!

You are never going to win over some people, luckily they are usually easy to pinpoint early on. For others, it's about building relationships and selling added value. So in our case for example, I talk about the shelf-life and longevity of ads placed in our magazine as compared to say an online or community newspaper ad. There is also value in being part of our community - we are more inclined to tell others about a business, service, or product we do business and are familiar with, than ones we are not. We also discount loyal customers, offer volume discounts for advance bookings, and throw in perks like free social media shout-outs. But if people think we are too expensive, there is little we can do to change their mind. Some people always eat at McDonald's because they think steak houses are too expensive, but others would never eat at McDonald's because they don't offer quality. You can't win them all - focus on the ones you can and have! Good luck!
