About Us

I am a Nurse Practioner who is passionate about helping you get unstuck in your health goals whether it's losing weight, managing blood sugars, or generally feeling better!

As a Functional Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner, I began to understand the importance of nutrition and health - but there is more. I understood how poor sleep patterns from nutritional deficiencies and stress all play a huge role. I learned that so many of us suffer from simple nutritional deficiencies that are easily managed.

My goal is to help prevent problems from becoming disease and to help mitigate disease from getting worse.

How We Got Started

This grew out of my own life experience of being obese and then having Bariatric surgery. I also struggled with some weight regain 5 years after surgery and knew I needed to get back on track; to attain the health goals I had desired, but I felt my chemistry set was broken. No matter what I did, things didn't change.

I began to study Functional Medicine and Nutrition and the light came on. There are so many things that are overlooked by traditional medicine that can easily be managed. However, due to lack of time and education, and requirements to meet managed care standards, the average person is left with nowhere else to turn.

Yes, I started this journey as my own experiment to fix my health. To really understand how MY body was working. Healthcare is not "one size fits all". We are all different. This is how I have chosen to dedicate my work. To listen to those who don't feel listened to. To think creatively to help with underlying issues or disordered.

My body, "chemistry set", requires high-quality protein preferably organically sourced and pastured and/or wild.  I would not choose a plant protein over an animal-based one.  (more) My body, "chemistry set", requires high-quality protein preferably organically sourced and pastured and/or wild.  I would not choose a plant protein over an animal-based one.

(more) There is an underlying current of discontent with the current "Disease Care" System, commonly referred to as the "Health Care" system.  But the reality is that there is no support for preventative or pro-active care/ medicine unless you investigate Functional Medicine or Integrative Medicine.  As a Nurse Practitioner, trained in the traditional system, I also felt the handcuffs applied by insurance companies who happily pay Tens of Thousands of dollars for surgery or medication, but refuse to pay for far less costly diagnostic options that steer away from acute and chronic illness.  DUTCH or OATS or ZRT testing as an out-of-pocket cost 'pinches' the wallet for certain but they provide a critical understanding of what is really going on.  However, many if not most FSA or HSA programs will cover their costs.  People are getting smarter and asking more questions about the treatment of disease and are looking for an alternative, less toxic approach to treatment. Granted prevention is the best medicine, but there are times when a trip to the ER is needed. Even your Primary Care provider will quickly dispense a medication rather than refer to a Functional Nutrition specialist who can amend your diet, and help you with your lifestyle, stress and sleep habits.   Meg Ramstad, MSN, ARNP,   Functional Nutrition Coach, Functional Nutrition Alliance Graduate Whole30 Certified Coach Infinite Possibilities Certified Trainer
