Meara McLaughlin is a seasoned music ecosystem advocate who has worked extensively to reimagine how music creators, producers, distributors, all of the other players making up the music sector can expand their markets, impact, and resiliency. As part of the Music Policy Council that she founded, Meara remains at the center of legislative evolutions to make Portland a truly music supportive city. Music will not survive a growing city without strategy and solidarity.
Meara is the founder and seven year Executive Director of MusicPortland and MusicOregon, the first nonprofit advocacy and cultural support organizations in the state to support the for-profit music ecosystem in Oregon. She continues to work for change as consultant, an innovator, and as a volunteer with the Music Policy Council.
