About Us

When you run an established 7- or 8-figure business, the challenge is rarely effort.

You’ve already built something substantial. Revenue is real. Customers are coming in. The business works.

But as the company grows, complexity grows with it — and that complexity has a cost.

Margins tighten. Expenses quietly expand. Revenue slips through the cracks because systems haven’t kept pace with scale. Decisions are made based on habit instead of clarity, and the business becomes more expensive and riskier to operate than it should be.

At some point, the question isn’t whether the business is successful, but whether it’s operating as efficiently, profitably, and intentionally as it could be.

That’s where experienced guidance makes the difference.

By identifying where revenue is being lost, where expenses are unnecessarily high, and where systems are creating friction instead of leverage, businesses can materially improve financial performance without chasing new tactics or reinventing how they operate.

For the legacy-economy businesses I've worked with (including wineries, manufacturing firms, senior services, and professional service companies, among others) this often has involved strengthening how revenue is captured and retained, reducing operational waste, and mitigating legal and structural risk that has eroded value over time.

Based in the Pacific Northwest and serving the greater Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington metro areas, I work with business owners to bring clarity to these issues and guide the strategic decisions that lead to stronger margins, better systems, and a more durable business.

If you’re looking to improve how your business performs financially — by operating with greater precision, discipline, and foresight — this is the work I do.

How We Got Started

A long time marketer, I started consulting with clients in the wine industry on their marketing and positioning in 2010. Soon after I launched a fully-fledged Facebook Ads Agency. These days, my time and focus is 100% on training and consulting on revenue growth and expense reduction

Similar to the response about having a USP in place, this approach gives you the ability to sell the same thing as another business in your area... but differentiate yourself by the particular audience you work with. It may feel counterintuitive to go narrow, but it's among the best ways to a) stand out in front of your idea target market, and b) focus in on how and where you spend whatever limited budget you may have (because you don't need to be promoting your business to everyone).

But as these poll results show, many business owners are more hesitant or unclear on the necessity of embracing AI or tools like ChatGPT.  That's completely understandable given the loudest voices on the topic are focused on the potential dangers of the technology or the cool things various AI tools  can do.  Instead, I suggest approaching the topic by asking what problems or challenges your business is currently dealing with, and then exploring how ChatGPT or similar tools can help you address them.

(more) Facebook can certainly work as an online hub for a business, but there are some trade-offs.1) As a business, you don't own your Facebook Fan Page or Group, and you are limited to Facebook's algorithms when trying to communicate with your followers or group members (unless you run ads, of course). 2) You don't own the relationship with prospects and customers in the same way that you would if you connected via your website or, more importantly, have developed an email list. Facebook, however, does provide a wide range of highly effective marketing opportunities for businesses. And, given the fact that so many people have created a daily habit of checking in on Facebook (can you say that for your website), it's a smart place to be active in order to gain exposure (and even make sales). Of course, neither Facebook nor a website matters if you don't use it strategically. That is to say, as a business, you want to have as much control over your prospects' experience as possible, and carefully establish a process for creating both engagement and conversion (getting leads and making sales).
