Jana Winters Parkin has been painting for as long as she can remember. She was first taught to draw, paint and create by her father, Dr. Nathan B. Winters—a renowned art educator with a PhD in creativity. Jana earned a BFA in Art and Graphic Design from the University of Utah, and has continued to feed her perpetual love of learning with watercolor classes and professional workshops.
She worked for over 17 years as a designer and illustrator in Los Angeles, where she often incorporated her paintings into her design ideas. Her watercolors have been featured in print / collateral for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Hollywood Bowl, Breez Fragrances, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and many more.
Jana exhibits frequently and has won numerous awards for her spirited paintings. She just began her fourteenth year teaching watercolor courses at Utah Valley University. She also works with select private students and teaches in larger workshop settings. She will teach a plein air workshop at Marouatte Castle in France in June/July 2021. (Learn more at janaparkin.com)
