I majored in Art at SDSU, and decided I was not sure I could make it as a "starving artist"! So, I knew someone at Bowest Mortgage in La Jolla, and in about 1982 started working there, first processing taxes for mortgages nationwide, then moved to their escrow firm in downtown La Jolla. From there I got a job with a developer doing their escrows on condo conversions, then worked for a major builder developing La Jolla Colony (just east of the 5 fwy between Gilman and Nobel Dr) and several other neighborhoods in SD, as their assistant marketing director and escrow coordinator. One year I closed over 1,000 home closings, it was amazing! Finally, in the mid 1980's I got my real estate license and the rest is history!
