I am sorry, but I don't understand your question. What kind of case? Has suit been filed? Is it settled? Did the defendant/insurance company send a check? Are there liens against the proceeds? Too many questions that are unanswered here. Speak to your lawyer and ask him/her to explain...

Too many questions that are unanswered here. Speak to your lawyer and ask him/her to explain what is going on, so you have an idea of what is happening and whether or not the delay is unreasonable.
In appropriate situations, I get a deposit up front and draw from it as I earn it, with copies of bills to the client. As balance nears zero, I ask for additional upfront payments.

I don't think there is a "one size fits all" approach. You have to demonstrate that you can give the prospective client something of value. If you do that, you can close the deal.

Corporations are artificial persons, legally permitted by statute in each jurisdiction. If your articles don't comply with the statute, the corporation may be non-exisent and the protections you are looking for will not be there. Lawyer only costs about $1,000-2000 for complete set-up. Perhaps...
