Hi Maxine, yes it does. There are several pieces of legislation under the consumer protection act that assures a "life event" does not become a "life sentence". A precise but doable process exists to remove those negatives that fall in one or more of five categories. Even though a derogatory may be obsolete and no longer effecting someone's credit SCORE, it is still on their credit REPORT and can effect everything from their insurance rates, to their ability to purchase a home and/or secure employment unless they are removed.
