Truthfully, we've found referrals are one of our greatest assets. Revisit those friends and family with fresh cards and thank you's for new referrals. Nominal gifts, candy, donuts to the local small businesses etc are a great thing too. Make sure you reach out for the important dates birthdays, holidays etc. Just like a politician you have to market at all times. When you go out for coffee have a few cards to leave on community bulletin boards, introduce yourself to the small business in the area you live/work in. Introduce yourself to the local business groups too. Partner with other types of insurance carriers, cpas, etc for referral sources. If they like you and you can develop a relationship with them, they will be more apt refer you to their own clients. Work on your elevator pitch for those quick introductions and chance meetings, exchange cards, follow up! Good luck!
