I can tell you what we have been doing with our clients since the CARES Act passed in mid March:
Primary focus has been on helping our clients survive - by helping them understand the various options and assisting them to apply for EIDL (Economic Injury Disaster Grants and Loans) and PPP (Payroll Protection Program) loans, as well as counseling on other survival issues for the next several months.
Working on any business or personal tax returns where the expectation is a refund. Extended deadline or not - these returns should be completed as soon as possible.
And, finally, work on completing returns with payments due by the new 7/15 deadline.
Since our practice is primarily focused on small businesses clients (accounting, payroll, tax and advisory services), that is where 99% of our efforts have been focused since mid-March. I anticipate that won't change significantly for the next month or so.
