Recent fire fatalities in our community have raised an awareness regarding home fire safety. As a firefighter and code inspector I was approached by friends and family. I conducted several home inspections and it was clear that no one was informing these parents and homeowners of the basic fire safety techniques and of the protective devices available. i had personally taught their children how to stay safe, create an escape plan and meet at a designated Safe Place, but the message never reached the parents. The modern day fire is faster, hotter and more dangerous than ever before. I am happy to inspect homes and share the techniques and safety products that will keep us safe.
