Do you ask your Doctor to reduce his office visit? Do you ask the grocery store to charge you less for that nice cut of steak? When you need your brakes fixed do you tell you mechanic to cut corners, and do it for less? Do you ask the hardware store to reduce the cost of nails? WHY THE F#### do you expect people in service industries to "negotiate" prices...... They provide a service. They EARN it. IF you think don't TRUST the person - then don't hire them. Find someone who you trust, who you believe in, and then pay them what they are worth. The ONLY negotiation I would do: FLAT rate 6% for what we "expect" the place to sell for. BONUS commission for the agent getting MORE. Penalty commission for getting less.
