Hope Over Addiction
Committed to eradicating the stigma associated with addiction..
Hope Over Addiction Community Group is available to host guest speakers, educational panels for schools, churches, civic groups, etc.
Hope Over Addiction teaches how to recognize the signs of an overdose and how to treat it. We teach how to use and distribute the Overdose Reversal Drug Naloxone/Narcan to members in the community, employer/employees, First Responders, Churches, Civic organizations and anyone who would like to offer it. We also teach about the disease of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) & Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). Both SUD(addiction) and OUD are treatable diseases however everyone needs to understand treatments options. We are here to serve our community.
We also offer classes/support to friends and family with loved ones suffering from SUD or OUD. We are currently offering grief groups in two locations twice a month for a total of 4 groups; Rockford & Rockton. We will be starting a Smart Start Recovery group soon!
Hope Over Addiction is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
We also have different classes to support those who love someone suffering from addiction.

I lost my oldest son to an accidental overdose 8/12/2014. After his death, I learned his death was preventable and addiction is a treatable disease. I realized I didn't know enough and parents needed resources to learn how to help their loved ones.
My son wanted to share his story to help other, so I decided to pick up his torch and carry it for him. At the time, there was no where in our community for family members to go for help. So we became that place. This is our mission and my passion to help save as many lives as we can. No parent should have to bury their child. You can read Chris's story at www.hopeoveraddiction.net.
