"Where do you see yourself within my company six months from hire? A year from hire? Perhaps even five years from hire, should you obtain the position? This question informs me of how the candidate sees their positioning within my business. The question also lets me know how serious they take the job, and how long they may be planning on staying with my company. Another is, "What's your description of a team player?" The question helps me to kind of gauge their thinking on working with others, as well as, moving up within management. I'm not looking for the answer of, "Well, a team player is one who works well with others." Because we all know that's a truth. I'm looking for an answer like, "A team player is one who participates in completing projects. Someone who jumps in without being asked, or told to perform. Answers like that. Another question is "Why would you quit a job? I know this one seems a bit over the top for some. But, we ask this question on the job application where it ask for employment listing. The reason why you left? It's the same thing except you're face to face and you're asking why they quit verses Reason for leaving? This question also will provide you with a bit of insight to a person's character. You may discover before hiring that this person has a problem with authority. They aren't a team player. They may expect too much. Etc.

When I'm looking for someone to hire, regardless of position I want to pay someone who can be responsible and accountable plus dedicated and loyal. Thus, knowing that people want to work because they may need to work for the pay alone. But, that's not why I want to hire them, although it's a joy to provide paying work for others.

It's not so much as how the prospect says it, but more so what they say from a perspective of character. Can't really judge a book by its cover, so to speak. But, you can tell a lot of a person from their selective wording.  I hope this was helpful. Best Creative Regards.
