Online marketing gets you hits and bargain seekers not steady paying clients. If you have  money  look into purchasing an existing practice. This is tough today because of all the consolidation that has occurred. Try to network with some transactional attorneys. Working per diem for older practitioners  can be a way to get leads too. Good luck

Ie I am not dyeing today I will buy life insurance next year same answer with drafting a will. You need to point out that the cost the insurance is a bargain when you look at the security it can provide ie paying for a child's college education or a spouses retirement or just providing some liquid assets where there wouldn't be any otherwise.

I often wonder if any of these contractors or green card holders are ever caught. I have been called naive or foolish for abiding by them. That's not to say that I Never deduct an expense that is in the grey area (could go either way) but sometimes trying to obey the law is lonely.

(more) A good CPA can do a lot for a small business. I like to think of myself as a good well rounded CPA. A good CPA should help your business, be proactive, try to plan and minimize your income taxes, help you come up with a plan to set aside enough assets to educate your children or grandchildren and plan for your retirement. The CPA does not nor should he/she do all of this himself. IN my case, I am also a tax and estate attorney so I can and do help my clients with estate planning, buy sell agreements etc. Usually for investments if the client is a do it yourself type, we select index and actively managed mutual funds and or ETF's. If the client does not want to get involved we recommend an investment professional. A good CPA should be much more than "a mechanic" who prepares tax returns, financial statements, or books of entry on a timely basis; rather the good CPA explains the advantages that a 529 plan may provide in planning for the education of the client's children or the advantages of a charitable or grantor trust for estate planning purposes.A good CPA can also explain the concept of a step up in basis upon a client's death for his heirs or what is "income in respect of a decedent" and how it can throw off a huge income tax deduction for large estates
