A new home is a major expense for sure. As a buyer, you are better served by a team dedicated to you - your real estate attorney, an inspector during/after the house is built, your mortgage agent and a realtor to watch all the details/milestones. Previous posts confirm the builder's sales agent works for the builder - period. Paying the buyer's agent can be done by the buyer under a separate agreement or by the builder - commissions are often stated with a new house listing in our area. Basically, "caveat emptor" still applies - hire and buy from who you trust.
