It works IF: The success of any therapy is based primarily on the therapist-client relationship. However, the client has to want to be there and be willing to WORK, and the therapist should have received training and understand things like transference. I help clients re-frame what is going on in their life by providing a larger perspective on the events in their life. I also teach them tools for living such as use of acceptance and gratitude, cancelling that usually negative voice in their head, assertiveness, etc. I find that most of my clients accept that a therapist can help them in their life - They don't feel less-than for seeking help. Some highly motivated people almost brag about it. In groups I belong to, therapy is considered a good thing.

I have not taken insurance since the advent of Managed Care. The idea of clerical people determining what is proper client care is ludicrous. Last year I gave up most of my certifications. None of them had any real relation to what I do, and have not for years. I do some counseling as needed for couples, but mostly I teach Spirit to people and I teach techniques for living well. I set my own fees. Those that can pay do. Those who cannot pay full fee, that I feel I can do good work with, my fee is what they can pay. The only downside is I cannot help DUI clients get their license back. I still help people with addiction move into sustained recovery.

An excellent hypnotherapist is Betty Moore-Hafter in Burlington VT. Office on King st. She hyptoxedme twice. Provided me with two major soul parts returned. There was no specific intent, but the Universe knew what I needed. I use deep guided meditations and Shamanic Drum Journeyin. Both provide a very relaxed and peaceful state I make vague suggestions and the clients mind provide deep life-changing experiences. This is alternative to hypnosis’s. Requires mutual trust client and me Both of us end up in a very pleasant altered state.

They will happen. I see no point in chasing after a lost cause. Regular clients let me know, as much in advance as they know. If it keeps happening, see next sentence. People who do not want to work will either cancel or no show. Or maybe I and they miss-read their ability to pay and they don't want to admit it. Almost impossible to recover them in such cases. I do not waste much time trying. I get many calls that do not result in an appointment. Sometimes they "toyed" with the idea of doing something about their problems, but then didn't, or realized they cannot or wont afford help. Other times, their spouse wont come.
