(more) The tax burden on small companies and middle class individuals is high because of companies and individuals who don't pay their share. Large corporations get handouts from government as a payback for donations they make to politicians.  The rich  can avoid paying their share because the IRS doesn't have the resources to do long, drawn out audits and long, drawn out court cases.  Yet, it is these same people and corporations who get the largest benefits from our tax dollars in the way of police protection, roads, and other types of infrastructure. Our tax dollars pay for most drug development, we financed Tesla's launch, and we practically give away oil leases on public lands to multi-national oil companies.  We need more IRS workers so that we can collect the taxes that these people and corporations should be paying. Then maybe we can lower taxes on the middle class or invest in a lower cost for higher education so that America can remain a world leader.

They said they would be buying even more soon.  However, if the problem is prolonged and does long term damage to businesses it will eventually have a negative impact on our business too.

(more) Wish I would have known that my company, GAVX, would be selling video conference equipment and not providing IT consulting services.  I would have built the office space different with warehouse space and a shipping department instead of a large conference room and consultant workspaces.  I wouldn't have wasted time trying to build a consulting business first.  Fortunately, I spent 5 full days at a training session called the Entrepreneur Boot Camp which was being led by one of Apple's founders.  Important take-away from the boot camp was that it doesn't matter what you go into business to do, the business needs to provide the product or service which sells.  It no longer matters what your passion is.  If you want to stay in business, follow the money.  Sell what your customers want to buy. At the time I started GAVX Inc., a mass of IT professionals had just completed their Y2k projects to prevent a Millennium Bug.  There was a glut of IT consultants available and on the market.  Although I got some projects initially, many dried up because of the NYC bombing and the wars which began after that.  On a whim I built a website to sell Polycom audio and video conference equipment, something I already knew a lot about, and guess what?  They sold.  Remembering the lesson from the boot camp, I changed the business from consulting to sales of conference speaker phones and video conference equipment.  We have never looked back on that decision we made 18 years ago.

I am far from alone in this preference. Its all about what we can do for God.  We must do the best we can to present the church to others.  We are representatives on Earth for God in all we do.  We must always try to do our best to represent God favorably.  We must always do our best to maintain and grow God's kingdom.

We give $500 cash, not a check, to each employee.  The bonus is done early enough that they can use it to buy presents.  We calculate their taxes on the bonus so that on paper it looks like $700; so that no taxes are owed and the $500 is free and clear. (more) GAVX sells videoconference equipment to businesses, government, and professional organizations.  Usually the IT department at the organization does the installation and provisioning with our help.  IT departments try to get their projects done before the holiday season or start them in January.  That means holidays are a slow-down time for us.  This is good though.  It allows us to catch-up on our own projects and create marketing plans for the new year.  The slower holiday season is also a time for our company to reflect on how important we, as people, are to each other and to spend time with family.  We recognize that each of us has a family and what is important in each other's lives.
