I have chosen (or was called to) a profession and a business that is not easily duplicateable.  This means that, by eschewing franchising opportunities, I must be willing to put in long hours.  If I wanted to get rich, or even to get comfortable, I would not have made the deliberate decision to build a five-star spa in a small town.  Every business owner is different, but my decision to open this business was not based on being properly compensated.  Having taught in the public schools for over 20 years, I am very used to working hard and not being properly compensated!
