I just look at them and listen to them. They either want to know me and want my services or they don’t. It is usually a surprise to see where customers come from. And, I do better if they are the one to ask for my card. I like to stay in the moment and just enjoy the person I am talking to. It has to be about them, and not about me. Or about the interaction at hand. The last person to ask for my card was someone in a grocery line holding two bananas. I let her go ahead of me and a conversation started. Just love the people, enjoy them, and enjoy your work. Trust the process, believe in yourself, and believe in what you do. More words are not better. Only ones from the belly or the heart.

Occasionally I will agree to hold a check for a few days. Once in a great while I will hold a for check up to a week. Generally, if the person is not able to compensate me, they don’t schedule with me.
My services are very comprehensive, and I give a lot in teaching, encouragement, and other courtesies that include finding ways for them to receive the most from my care for the least cost, in addition to the work of my hands. I truly care about them, and they know it.
With all of that, how could I possibly also be their banker?

The most obscure referrals came from a runner who was jogging in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, plus was carrying my card in her hand. She handed the card to a a sole person waiting at a bus stop. The person at the bus stop worked at the perfume counter at Meier and Frank that referred many.
