l have been doing reverse mortgages for 13 years and most of the information listed by others is half truths and outright silliness. I have never had a disappointed customer and I’m always available to answer questions both during and after the process. Yes you must pay property taxes, home owners insurance and maintenance like any responsible homeowner but unlike a regular mortgage where if you miss a payment you can get foreclosed upon a reverse mortgage eliminates the monthly so there is less risk. For those Financial Advisors who’d like real info. I’d be happy to speak with them. The best advice is deal with someone who only does reverse mortgages and knows how the product really works and makes sure the clients are well educated before they move forward on this type of loan.  Sorry for the bluntness but I’ve dealt with this for years and most people do not understand the product for its real benefits. Take care
