the absolute best way that I have found is to have an interactive website... And in that I mean allow your customer to have some participation in what his product needs are and how he wants them to evolve. In other words give him some flexibility and some reins as to allowing him to assist you in the design or how he would like the printing documents to look like. That's been the best way that I've always found.
