How We Got Started

My name is Jackie born in the Imperial Valley where I received all of my education. My California Department of Corrections (CDC) Number was X30888. I got 3 years and gave back my number on June 15, 2010. While doing this time, my thought was, “I WAS NOT ARRESTED, I WAS RESCUED.” God gave me this vision to help women like myself to re-enter society.
 
Ray King the CEO of the Urban League of San Diego County help me tremendously. I’m off of parole today and running Women’s Re-Entry Program and also has started my own Non-Profit which is “Women Initiating Success Envisioned” (WISE).
Achievements:
400+ employer hiring felons.

County of San Diego Sheriff Department: Las Colinas Instructor for Psychosocial Services.
This shows my ladies' incarceration is a stepping stone and you can be successful because I DID IT!!!

Because I help incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women. There is no help for them right now. As there being release, there is no services for them. They call me every day and its so frustrating because watching these big entities get all the money, the people that suffer are the ones with... They call me every day and its so frustrating because watching these big entities get all the money, the people that suffer are the ones with backgrounds. That how Women Initiating Success Envisioned came about. And the truth be told, I'm not getting the help I need to help others. Sad but true.

I'm a small entity and I help incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women to get their lives back on track. I was denied because the volunteers that help me didn't actually get a paycheck. But they work hard together with me as well as using their money to help my ladies. Helping incarcerated... (more) I'm a small entity and I help incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women to get their lives back on track. I was denied because the volunteers that help me didn't actually get a paycheck. But they work hard together with me as well as using their money to help my ladies. Helping incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women is what I do because I didn't have a quick-book, they denied me.  Let me say this,  I have a profit and loss spreadsheet. But that wasn't good enough. I've helped over 1000+ women with my money and because my entity is small, I guess I didn't quality. What I'm also hearing is the money is going only to white entities and only a few blacks are getting excepted. How true is this? I don't know because there are no statistics on how many black entities versus white entities are getting approved.  This was my experience.
