Catharine Clark
Catharine Clark Gallery
Contemporary art gallery representing International and regional artists since 1991. The gallery also screens video and film with every exhibit. Through its BOXBLUR initiative, the gallery programs performance events, which are often ticketed.
The gallery was founded in 1991 by Catharine Clark. Clark is a San Francisco native, who after studying art history at the University of Pennsylvania and dancing with Morphe Danza Teatro in 1988-1989 returned to her home town to work in the arts. The gallery presents the work of contemporary artists working in all forms of media. In 2015, Catharine founded BOXBLUR, an initiative to bring the work of visual and performing artists into dialogue within the non-proscenium-based setting of the gallery. BOXBLUR is fiscally sponsored by Dance Film SF, a not-for-profit organization.
