Be their friend, a harsh demeanor will kill a deal and send your client packing. If you as the business owner can't be relatable in a service or retail environment, put someone in place who can. Remember, "your business is only as good as your worst employee", and if that's you, you'd better wake up and do something to remedy that issue. Every customer you have should want to come back, they ARE your business. You aren't ever 'self made' unless you print your own money.

Follow banking trends, they are (the Fed) the reason for most business failures thru credit tightening, and money to loan issues. Had I understood that issue I could have made better decisions early on. Now there's this political game and media fear setting the stage for many business failures. So we have been down 80% and hope the stupidity and f.e.a.r. comes to an end soon, as many of our customers have been put out of business through this process. For all the wineries, restaurants, bars, theaters, shops, production companies and music venues, our concerts and tourism people have all endured a major change that will play out for months to come. (At least until November) so to all I say be well, wash your hands till they wrinkle and don't put gloves on right after the sanitizer, masks don't keep you from harm and may do you a real disservice rebreathing CO2.

This malarkey has caused more problems than just when to get back to work, and we may never, although I see already a sharp uptick in our great customers and small business people getting themselves out of the "closed by decree of the California King" garbage. So all my folks are still on unemployment but that may soon change so long as another plague from somewhere doesn't hit. Be well, Wash your hands, wear a mask and stand 6' apart, if that keeps you safe. Get this economy going. Small business can't stand to be indebted indefinitely to government, that's not who we are. When the work is here we will restaff.  Not until.
