Demand has exceeded our current resources and we, unfortunately, had to turn away new clients because we simply could not handle the load and still do an excellent job for them. It would be great if we can find some IT partner that we can work with to offload existing and/or new clients to that would provide onsite/offsite/remote IT services under a white label (GEEK911 brand) model. If any IT technology provider is out there and is interested in partnering with us, let me know.

As such I feel we are in a better position than some other businesses in being able to weather the second "pandemic storm" that they say is soon to be upon us. has it been easy? Hell no! We have seen some of our clients go out of business, same with some of our vendors and partners. Sadly, it did not need to happen the way it did. Oh! I'm not talking about how we in this country have managed this crisis, that's a whole different story in itself. I'm talking about how those business that suffered, closed, lost employees, shuttered their business for good, etc. Everyone loses when stuff like this that is unavoidable happens and, yes, including the local, state, and federal government as these business and individuals no longer earn revenue and therefore no longer pay taxes. What can and should have (and can still) happen you ask? During the last lock-down and for the next one: - Federal and/or State stimulus packages for small business of 25 or less employees paid to them quickly, directly, and without too much paperwork or fuss. Don't worry government, you'll get this money back and more in taxes by keeping business afloat and people employed. If you require that business must close or operate with restrictions? Fine, we can do that but we need assistance in order to comply and survive. - Full or partial unemployment benefits to those working individuals who were laid off, or furloughed and employers must guarantee to return these employees back to work once the restriction are lifted. This will ensure more compliance with restrictions as people will not need to worry about their jobs for no fault of their own. - Moratorium on rent and mortgages (I speak here as both a landlord and as someone who is renting). This is no time to add more stress to an already stressful time by having people worry about losing their homes and property in addition to their jobs as stated earlier. - Free or heavily discounted medical care particularly during the pandemic period. I am 100% for universal health care and for UBI (Universal Basic Income). It is not socialism at all, forget what they tell you that it is. It is a 100% American idea that big corporations and lobbyists have brainwashed the American people into thinking that it is something bad. What do you call social security? What about the VA? What about Medicare? We do not live in a capitalist country, never have. We live in a mixed economy. I could list more but I tell you if we can just do the aforementioned three actions items and do them NOW! It is late but it is not too late. We will come out better for it, I promise you we will. It's a no-brainer! The world is laughing at us. I deal with a number of my international clients and they tell me this.

I have never met or heard of anyone say that they can live by getting $600/week. Not in the Bay Area and not in most places in the U.S. You might survive on $600/week but that's it. That said, it should not be a question of whether to pay $600/week, rather, it should be what would constitute a living wage. That's really what's needed. Let's remember any money that is appropriated by Congress as such is our (tax payers) money being given back to us temporarily due to circumstances beyond our control. So it is our money not someone else being generous and giving us this money. And I have no doubt we would be paying this money back someday with interest by Congress using this pandemic to hike our taxes. My 5-point plan during the pandemic would be: Moratorium on rent (for people and businesses) Moratorium on mortgages (for people) Pay citizens a living wage Mandate masks under penalty of heavy fine Force banks and credit card companies to pause interest charges Do these 5 things and you will see amazing compliance and watch the cases and death numbers plummet.

(more) Instead of selling our MSP services as an answer to this question, I will simply answer it directly and to the point. I hear this from some of our clients who outsourced their IT department to us (GEEK911) that the biggest internal challenge to doing so came from their own internal IT team/department. Understandably because their internal IT team/department felt that outsourcing all of even some elements of the IT department meant that they (the internal IT team) might be let go at some point. And when that is the mindset, it becomes difficult to do a good job because you will have an internal IT team that is opposed to the outsourcing and thus will try to make it fail. For those situations, we offer the client a hybrid approach where we would augment their internal IT department rather than replace it. Unless, of course, the customer comes to us dead set against keeping an internal IT department and instead has decided they want to do away with their internal IT team.

Further, I have not cut their pay either nu reducing their hours, etc. So long as the work gets done and our clients are happy, my employees have the flexibility to work from their home if they so wish. Having said this, truly gives me no pleasure or joy to say that our business has picked up since mid-March 2020 when the lockdown began due to new and existing clients desperately wanting to set their employees to be able to work remotely. Heck, I even hired new techs to meet demand. But I am sad that the reason for this uptick in business is not a joyous one, there's pandemic that now seems out of control, people are out of work many (hopefully) temporarily but others permanently, and businesses are closed and hurting. But the saddest thing of all is that I have this feeling that it is not going to get any better any time soon. Even worse, these types of pandemics will continue if we (humankind) don't stop and think what we put in our mouth and how we treat animals. I firmly believe these types of pandemics are a crime against humanity and people/nations need to be held accountable for them or they will keep happening every so many years.

Actually our services have been in great demand as our existing clients and new clients came knocking the door down wanting their employees to be setup to work remotely (from home) in a hurry. The nature of our business is that we are able to do work remotely so there was no need for me and my employees to get too close to clients. However, what I do worry when businesses start to reopen is that clients can come to us in person, we go to them in person, we don't know who has the virus and who doesn't. We hear on media the tests are not as reliable as they would or could be (because they were fast tracked into production). In short, I worry about me and my employees getting the virus or if one of us has it and we don't know, give it to our clients. That's my biggest worry. With all the talk I hear on TV, it seems clearer to me that the country and/or our government has decided to take the herd immunity route with this virus. No one will say this but actions seem to indicate we're going Sweden on this.
