You have to build a relationship. I belong to several networking groups and each one has several real estate agents. I have worked very hard to build trust and relationships. In my experience asking real estate agents for referrals doesn't really work. Instead of asking for referrals I ask them how their business is going, what there challenges are and build rapport. When they need a homeowner policy, they send them to me. Real Estate agents are bombarded daily by insurance agents, mortgage brokers, title companies, escrow companies, home inspectors, staging companies just to name a few. My advice is to pick a couple of top producers and show them who you are and how you can make their closings go smoother.
