Inflation down?  Are you crazy?!  Tell that to the people who are now having to choose between eating and heating their homes. Inflation is still over 7%.  And, these days, do you even trust what is being reported. Prices are still going up... if/when the essentials we need are even available. This survey has biased and leading answers so not really valid. My 4th qtr is dependent on me and not circumstance. So I'll make it what I want. (more) This survey has biased and leading answers so not really valid. My 4th qtr is dependent on me and not circumstance. So I'll make it what I want.

Our NM governor is only interested in what benefits her. She will loose her reelection next month and then we'll see what the new person can do. I don't really care which political party she aligns with. Anyone would be better than her and they will now have their chance. (more) Our NM governor is only interested in what benefits her. My nephew got a check and he doesn't even have a drivers license. Clearly, the NM governor is just buying votes. I'll take the money gladly but will NOT vote for her later this year.

I personally believe that our economy will continue to decline, interest rates will move higher and overall demand for most non perishable retail items and non essential services will diminish.  The only question to ask is... What should I/we do about it!

Finding people to work is not at all difficult.  Finding one good person is what's difficult.  What I need are good critical thinking skills, initiative and confidence but mostly a good critical thinker which... everyone thinks they are... uhhh, errrr....  (more) Finding people to work is not at all difficult.  Finding one good person is what's difficult.  What I need are good critical thinking skills, initiative and confidence but mostly a good critical thinker which... everyone thinks they are... uhhh, errrr....

Do you mean, has the cold slowed down my business. NOPE! That's a pretty good business model, isn't it? I mean, it's working for the drug companies. But, you know, as soon as Omicron is done they'll come out with a new variant and try to scare everyone with it. Then, someone else can post a new poll just like this, only the player's name will have changed.

(more) I read a lot of the posts here and it sounds like deciding on a place to do the cooking and then delivering it is the way to go.  In this case you would be, in some ways, competing with all of your local restaurants. If you are planning to go online and do a youtube channel or a course then just remember that it's a long term game and will not bring cash in the door immediately.  For that you need to know things like how to drive traffic, optimize ads, conversion optimization stuff, landing pages, lead magnets, list building, email marketing, not to mention course creation and making videos... it's a lot and it's a big investment.  People don't just throw something up on a website or Thinkific or Youtube and have the people come... unless you know a celebrity or two. You might want to change your website up a bit to reflect any changes you will be making to your business.  And, if you have a list, learn a little about email marketing.  Your list will be your quickest source of business.  Also, if you do have a list, start creating some drip content for them just so they know you're out there and are top of their mind when a need arises.  Then you can run weekend specials like... Treat yourself to a Sunday Pastries for Breakfast, freshly baked and ready to deliver at the crack of dawn.  There is nothing like a freshly baked pastry with a cup of coffee on a Sunday morning.  Stuff like that.  I could write a booklet of ideas that you could try for very little investment.  You  could have a Trump menu and a Biden menu for Election Day. You could also pivot into After Meal Cleanup.  I dunno.  Start doing something and find out what is working and what is not. Another thought is to build your business around events.  Holiday is great for that... lots of family get togethers and holiday cooking.  You are able to allow people to spend more time with family and friends by taking over the burden of cooking.  You could spin it that way.... all of the convenience and flavour or genuine home cooked meals without the chore of cooking and less after meal cleanup. The important thing is that you take an idea and run with it.  Get several ideas, execute one at a time and figure out what is working.  I have lots of ideas, both online and offline so there are a lot of things you can do.  All of the answers we need lie outside of who we are which  is outside of our comfort zone. Welcome to the real world of long term business.
