Before a storm you need to make sure your policy covers your financial exposure. Watch out for actual cash value versus replacement cost being used to calculate coverage. 

After a storm if you have a claim call your carrier as soon as possible. There is going to be a line so get in it early. Your agent won’t be able to do much to expedite anything. Be sure to document with pictures any repairs you do before the adjuster gets to your property.
