About Us
As an affiliate of The Insurance Butler system we can provide a much more diverse line of product options as a small office. While most local agencies can only offer two or three carriers for a particular coverage we have access to enough options to be competitive on nearly every risk. Some of the carriers we represent include Allstate, Progressive, The Hartford, Nationwide, Met, Ascendant, Heritage and multiple others.

Another law, another set of regulations and a collection of other issues. Nobody is stopping business owners from establishing cash reserves and as others have mentioned here there are even certain tax advantaged methods already available. Many business owners do plan for lean times already and many also buy insurance for various crises like fire. What it is very unlikely is a business that planned for the government to suddenly force their closure. Now everyone has a new risk to plan for that wasn't in the equation before and also varies depending on where you are in the country. And while the current focus is on Covid we still may have to plan for what the goal post will be in the future. Today it's 200k deaths but what if the seasonal flu is projected to kill 60k next year? Do we close for that? Are restrictions implemented? I know this is a bit off topic but I am far more concerned about generating a stable business environment where we at least know what the rules will be going forward, than implementing new variations to the already ridiculous tax code. I saw one response in here from someone in the performing arts. Even something as simple as a mask mandate can kill that industry as actors with their faces covered aren't that enjoyable to watch. So lets decide on how we want to deal with things like this in the future first, then we can plan are businesses accordingly.

Homeowners rates and other property coverages are more sensitive to the reinsurance market which is dictated by financial conditions as much as it is risk so we will see a hardening of the market there with increasing premiums.
For commercial liability, business interruption and workers compensation it will depend on how much exposure is actually absorbed by the industry with a huge factor being litigation costs even if no claims are paid.
In regards to heath coverage the cost will rise but it may take a little while to filter into the system. While expenditures are down due to delayed procedures costs will increase from treating certain conditions later than desired but the long term costs will be health organizations having to plan and stock for future events which will increase overall operating expenses.

Since you are a telemarketing company you already have the infrastructure and I assume this offering would not require any additional capital. With that in mind it may make sense as something you could cross sell to existing customers. If for some reason this would take an additional investment the question is what makes you different from any other answering service in the market currently?

One thing to keep in mind is that keeping your costs down should never stop you from things that will increase your revenue. I recently quoted a restaurant that had never put in hard alcohol because he thought his rates would skyrocket. This being said, the key things are making sure you are with a carrier that likes your type of business and avoiding loss events as best you can.
Most carriers will write a coffee shop, but some will be significantly better priced than others due to a desire for this type of business. This also varies by location so what works in Florida may not be as good in Georgia. Here in Florida I usually use Hartford for businesses like yours just to give you an idea.
What you need to be careful about is not expanding your business without making sure your policy covers what you are doing. A coffee shop may be covered but your policy may become useless if you have any live entertainment like a poetry reading that is excluded. Be sure to let your agent know everything you do at your site so he can quote the correct coverages. Also, make sure you have updated revenue numbers when a policy renews. You may not like your business interruption coverage if the claims adjuster is looking at a low ball revenue number from when you first opened.
Your clients appear to be product makers or brand managers. You specifically work with their marketing departments I would guess? These departments will also be working with the people in charge of marketing at their customers company’s as usually they do joint promoting as well.

Now would be a good time to ask for referrals downstream. While a liquor company may need approval of its materials from the government a bar won’t and will still be advertising. The benefit to your core clients is that if you are making materials for both them and their clients it makes integrating items easier and a benifit for the downstream clients is that you can help them get the most from their suppliers marketing system since you know it so well.
While I’m sure you can come up with multiple benefits for both sides the key is getting your current clients to put you in touch with their customers. Don’t be put off from using your current lack of business for sympathy referrals. Normally not an ideal marketing or networking strategy but with the unique circumstances your clients are aware of strains being put on others as well as themselves. Take advantage of the “everyone in the same leaky boat” effect since it won’t stay forever.
Before a storm you need to make sure your policy covers your financial exposure. Watch out for actual cash value versus replacement cost being used to calculate coverage.
After a storm if you have a claim call your carrier as soon as possible. There is going to be a line so get in it early....

Some might be here to find other employment opportunities or other reasons but most are attempting to expand their business.
The goal of a site like this is to explain to people what you do and hopefully confer a reasonable feeling of skill or quality so others will consider you when needing the product you offer. It also gives you a chance to meet people you otherwise wouldn't simply to expand your brand awareness. A person needs to be aware though that networking is not an end in itself and lots of time and money can be wasted just communicating with others that don't have a use for what you do. Always remember to ask for the sale. Or at least a referral to someone who might buy.
I doubt it has suffered a court test yet. Logic would dictate it is just plastic surgery and you don't notify your life company when you get a face lift. Excluding all politically correct issues biologically you still can't get a true sex change. They haven't started swapping x and y's yet. ...

Until they do, genetically you would still be the same gender with same actuary tables.
Protocol would be whatever the carrier decides.
Standard pricing would have to be higher to create a buffer for costs. You prefer to provide the most competitive price which means seeing everything there is to work with at the location.
