I like cash, and think we still need to keep it active & alive or the government will take the option away.  If you get Direct Deposit pay you can still take some cash out every week to have in your pocket.  I do use credit cards.  As a child my parents taught me the "credit card rule".  Cards should be used on large investments or maybe small such as a  hot water heater when yours just busted. Never use cards on food, gas, or perishable items.  Always ask for the "special financing" offered on high dollar items to get the 12 month 0% interest. Budget tightly and pay it off on time or you will get hit with all of the interest for the full 12 months.
