I need advice regarding buying a laptop. I have been pleased with Dell laptops. Is the purchase of an extended warranty necessary?

I would only get the warranty if it covers accidental damage to the screen. That is always the most costly part to replace on a laptop and the first thing to break. Dell has some good warranty options and the XPS product line is very good. At the end of the day, the warranty is just buying piece... Fortunately, these are services that we have always offered and most of our clients were already setup to transition to a work from home configuration. With NYS extending the shutdown until at least the 15th it is important that you can continue to work from home during this time.
