How We Got Started

From books to baking... I realized that my purpose is tied to helping others find more satisfying ways to enjoy life. So I offer perspective through my writing on life, relationships, family and the human condition. I began creating flavorful, fun treats and meals for your enjoyment cause good food makes us happy. Through styling and renovation I create impactful spaces reflecting your personality where you can have quiet enjoyment of your personal space. As a licensed Realtor I can even help you find the house you can make your home or sell one that no longer serves you. Because life is lived at home, you should live well, have peace and eat well. 2019 was my startup year as a totally self- employed person. No other income, just what I could create. The numbers were good, all ventures combined. Sometimes you have to put your head down and plow through daily tasks for however long it takes. No one will understand, but you know what needs to be done. Other times you'll have more leeway and can pace yourself on tasks, take regular breaks, schedule things like a more normal work schedule. If you feel it's out of control, hire someone and delegate. Interns can use the experience but cost little to nothing. At the end of the day, it's your baby. But you have to find a sweet spot so you don't lose yourself, your business or your family. ALWAYS steal a few hours for yourself from each week to breathe, meditate, or do absolutely nothing. None of it works without you, and you must have a clear head. You are your biggest business asset. Hope that helps.

It's easy to pretend you can market without money but you cannot. So find the money, pinch pennies or whatever. While business is booming, it's hard to pause and focus on marketing for down times. I have learned that it's vital though. You MUST market in smart, budgetary ways to keep business coming consistently. Referrals and ratings won't keep you afloat because people forget to do that for you. It's your job.
