About Us

We are a husband and wife duo who play a wide variety of acoustic, roots based, music for many different audiences. Our connections to the broad local music and dance community allow us to offer virtually any music desired, as well as social dancing with instruction. We regularly play for audiences as young as one year and as old as ninety, and everything in between. We also teach music in individual and group lessons, and workshops.

How We Got Started

We met at the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes in Port Townsend in 1997, and within a few years had quit our day jobs, got married, and embarked on an amazing journey of making music full time. Since then we've provide music for boat launches, weddings, memorial services, preschoolers, old age homes, concerts, and parties of all type, throughout the Northwest and the US. We know hundreds of songs and can learn any song you like quickly, and we know how to get people involved and participating. Several square dance and contra dance callers are part of our network, and we can get any group of novices up on the dance floor enjoying themselves.

All our gigs are cancelled indefinitely, including our regular work in a preschool and a big tour later this month. We are fortunate in that we have other resources, but we know many musicians, presenting organizations, and venues who are struggling with an uncertain financial future. I have been glad to see many discussions about how to support these folks, as well as the many non-musician gig workers in our town who are in danger of falling through the cracks. They should not bear a disproportionate share of the burden of keeping us all healthy.
