About Us
Your Greatness Shouldn't Be a Secret To Your Audience.
There are insights in your story that will keep audiences engaged. You’re their guide to that amazing story, but are you leading them in the right direction?
I work with thought leaders, C-suite members and entrepreneurs like you to extract your greatness and translate it for your next great speech or presentation.
How We Got Started
I have always been in a line of work that involved solid storytelling - from my decade-plus-long career in advertising and marketing to my skill and leadership development in Pacers Toastmasters. In the fall of 2017, I decided to launch my own venture where I can best apply my talents and help others achieve their goals.

"Alex and her team are assiduously devoted to their clients' success. At the heart of working with either candidates or consulting with businesses is the true ability to recognize talent, the intuition to know who and what will add maximum value to an organization. The PEOPLEfirst name isn't a platitude - it's a philosophy which everyone on the team applies in their day-to-day work."

In my experience, those intangible qualities are the ones that people most admire and respect, and they create an impression of you and your brand that can't be achieved any other way.

As you're building your business, you can and should be seeking counsel in a variety of areas. However, only you can really know what is right for your brand, your financial situation, your interests, etc. There may be a lot of people who will tell you - even those who are completely well-intentioned - to do something that goes squarely against your instincts.
It's important to honor yourself, your business and your intentions, even if that sometimes goes against what most people would say is "the right move".

It's been great in a lot of respects: virtual networking allows you to meet more people, more quickly, you can meet people from different parts of the country or the world, and you can be more targeted in meeting people by finding them on LinkedIn first. I do miss the in-person, face-to-face...

I do miss the in-person, face-to-face greeting, though.
The approach hasn't changed, really, just the medium. I've used the crisis as an opportunity to reach out to even more thought leaders and potential partners, and I am grateful for them being so generous with their time and expertise.

The best sources for me have been people who know me well enough to provide informed advice, but far enough away from the business to be impartial. Call these people mentors, call them friends, call them whatever you like: their wisdom is priceless.

I think the key word here is informed. Aside from thoroughly tested, tried-and-true methods of growing your business, there are few articles published on Medium that are going to provide advice that you can actually apply.
All of this being said, don't be afraid to rely on the best source: yourself.
My biggest success has been showing clients the value in their own stories. Any success layered atop that very simple, yet very important, foundation is a bonus.

I believe I may have posted a similar response elsewhere, but it's worth repeating. I wish I had known from day one how much value I bring to the table for clients.

This is not a comment on pricing (although I probably did undervalue myself in that respect, too). I'm talking about the belief that one needs to have as an entrepreneur, the kind that gets you through the tough days.
Whether you've had multiple clients or just one client, as long as you have validated your concept vis-à-vis their needs, and you understand their challenges, you're on the right track.
My favorite way to market my business is by appearing as a guest on podcasts. I've done three in the last six months, and they're great fun to do. Best of all, your potential customers get to hear the value you bring straight from you in an intimate forum.

This is a great question: simple, but one that I think every professional must answer for themselves once in a while to make sure they remain on the most fulfilling path.

The part that I love most about the work I do is being a trusted partner for every one of my clients. The faith they put in me to help them tell their stories is humbling, and a responsibility that I take very seriously.
I would 100% record myself reading my own work, especially if the work is an autobiography or autobiographical. With the rise of audiobooks, I believe that you're missing out on an opportunity to add dimension for the reader. I don't have any data to support this claim, but I believe readers...

With the rise of audiobooks, I believe that you're missing out on an opportunity to add dimension for the reader. I don't have any data to support this claim, but I believe readers expect to at least have it as an option.
